older child adoption

The older children that come to us bring many joys,

along with a wide range of needs resulting from varied backgrounds and life experiences. They may have suffered from physical, emotional, or sexual abuse or neglect. They may have experienced multiple homes and varied family settings, making it difficult for them to feel safe. All of them need unconditional love, unlimited encouragement and total commitment from a family of their own. While it is always our first hope to preserve a family unit, for these children, returning to their families is not always possible. It is part of the ministry of Deaconess Pregnancy and Adoption Services (DPAS) to match them with forever families who can meet their unique needs. Our desire is for each and every child in the state of Oklahoma to have the best opportunity for life, love, and family.

Please contact the DPAS office if you have questions or would like additional information about our Older Child programs. You can reach the Child Placement Supervisor, Heather Hails, by email at hhails@deaconessadoption.org, or by phone at (405) 949-4200.
